In recent days a BBC documentary said that dinosaurs became extinct 66 million years ago because an asteroid landed on a Mexican coast rather than in the middle of the ocean, thus raising a big sulfurous dust that dramatically lowered the temperature and caused the loss of food (I’ve simplified a bit). The fact remains that maybe we wouldn’t be here today if that asteroid hadn’t missed its target.
In the world of marketing, however, there is no asteroid to use as an excuse.
